    Pay Rate $20 - $26.93

    Responsibilities



    Position Summary

    Performs various administrative duties to support the daily operations of the Case Management Department which require initiative, problem solving abilities and strong interpersonal skills. Coordinates admission/discharge services and related activities. Promotes enhanced operations through strong communication and computer skills.

    • Supports the functions of the case management department by maintaining tools to enhance operations such as the access patient database and the daily discharge calendar.
    • Utilizes spreadsheets and databases to maintain information and tracking logs for the department. Ensures that computer entries are accurate and entered in a timely basis.
    • Demonstrates flexibility with assignments by managing daily workload and additional assignments as given.
    • Performs routine clerical duties in an efficient and timely manner, e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing. Performs coverage for other departments in the hospital as requested and within the scope of job functions.
    • Greets both in person and by telephone, patients, families, vendors and other parties. Ensures the reception area is neat and orderly. Provides basic information regarding institute services, department functions and general referral information.
    • Communicates with appropriate hospital personnel and prepares needed information for team conferences, morning meetings, family training sessions and other related meetings as requested.
    • Provides outside payers with requested medical information in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Ensures that adequate supplies and equipment are available in the department. Orders equipment and supplies, repairs and /or replacements as needed. Maintains reports related to service operations.

    Qualifications



    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree preferred.
    • Proficiency in office skills, including typing and computer skills, and in the use of office equipment required.
    • Minimum of one year of administrative/secretarial experience in a medical setting required.
    • Previous experience within a case management department and/or rehabilitation setting preferred.
