    Assistant Dean of Clinical Education

    We are looking for a highly qualified and passionate individual to join our team as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education at our Philadelphia campus.

    Job Title: Assistant Dean, Clinical Education
    Department: Clinical Education
    Location: Philadelphia, PA
    POSITION SUMMARY
    As the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education at PCOM, you will be responsible for overseeing clinical site development and maintenance, as well as student and professional affairs. Your role involves collaborating with other administrators and staff to achieve departmental objectives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    In this role, you will:

    • Maintain a clerkship program to ensure availability for students in all required clerkship specialties.
    • Recruit and retain high-quality teaching faculty and clinical rotation sites.
    • Develop and implement clinical clerkship and elective rotations.
    • Identify new options to meet student objectives.
    • Establish and update a database of clinical sites.
    • Supervise clerkship assignments and credentialing.
    • Manage scheduling and student feedback.
    • Advise students on academic and professional matters.
    • Assist in budget planning and oversight.
    • Supervise the clinical education support team.
    • Collaborate to promote curriculum integration.
    • Facilitate faculty development and promote scholarly research.
    • Represent PCOM in a professional manner in all relationships and negotiations.
    • Participate in reviews of student progress and performance.
    • Assist in accreditation documents and reports.
    • Perform other assigned duties.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Seven years' clinical teaching experience or similar.
    • Minimum of five years' leadership experience.
    • Strong planning, organization, and collaboration skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High level of computer proficiency.

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • DO or MD from a COCA or LCME-accredited medical school; DO preferred.
    • Board certification and active medical license required.
