Description

Summary

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D and is part of the NJ CSMS B, National Guard.

The purpose of this position is to supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function.

Duties

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS , you will:

Plan and establish overall leave schedules
Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
Ensure the employees wear appropriate safety equipment
Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work
Assign tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.
Investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes
Prepare and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and command support exercises
Performs non-supervisory work, such as, transporting equipment, performing maintenance tasks, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
