Description
The primary purpose of the Coordinator position is to facilitate the daily procedure schedule of the OOOR, provide daily oversight of clinical flow, and provide administrative support to the clinical manager while exercising independent judgment and authority as required.
Utilize strong interpersonal skills to communicate with various internal and external customers.
MD Anderson Cancer Center has an Anesthesia and Pain Services Coordinator opportunity in its Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Clinical Support department.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field and three years of program management experience in a patient care environment.
The ability to adapt to changing departmental/institutional demands, ability to multitask, work independently with minimum supervision, possess strong customer service skills, good organizational skills, time management, and be detail-oriented is a plus.
Shift:
Monday - Friday primarily 8 am - 5 pm and or 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (shift will be assigned/adjusted based on business need)
Key Functions
b. Provide Anesthesia Teams with any updated information or additional paperwork.
c. Work closely with clinical teams to ensure patient readiness for procedures.
d. Resolve issues that may arise regarding the timeliness of procedures, patient concerns, and APM/OOOR area conflicts.
e. Use forethought when addressing potential problems before they become an issue.
f. Coordinate care and patient flow for designated procedure areas
b. Data entry of all same-day add-ons and cancellations; proficient in Microsoft Programs.
b. Convey updated status and staff relief needs to the ANES CON board runners/clinical leadership.
c. Remain well-informed of all activities, results of efforts, problems identified, and/or potential issues.
b. Attend meetings as assigned.
c. Coordinate care of dual procedures; approve over-book appointments, communicating with other clinical areas/departments.
d. Address patient concerns about designated areas of responsibility and keep the program manager informed of situations and outcomes.
e. Generate staff schedules in EZ Call, as directed by the Program Manager
f. Manage the Web On-Call schedule for APM.
g. Maintain the OOOR Coordinator Manual
h. Update Organization charts; Emergency Calling Trees; Business Continuity Plan
i. Submit work requests for repairs, key requests, equipment issues, and new equipment.
j. Order office and coffee supplies for all assigned clinical areas and maintain inventory.
k. Maintain/audit clinical supplies.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field.
