Description
General Summary of Position Receives, stores, and distributes medical and non-medical supplies and equipment using manual and materials handling equipment.
Receives non-stock and/or stock deliveries.
Assists driver(s) in offloading using forklift, hand cart, power jack, manual jack, and/or rolling cart.
Processes stock and non-stock deliveries and packages using the department's data inquiring system.
Tags packages with department location/room number/PO number (if appropriate) and places in designated staging area by zone for delivery/disbursement.
Tags/marks stock deliveries with the appropriate warehouse location.
Files hard copies of purchase orders.
Delivers non-stock items by zone (using a rolling cart), verifying order and attempting to/securing the appropriate department signature on the packing slip and log.
Delivers stock items to either bulk storage or the requesting department, securing a signature on delivery log for deliveries to departments.
Answers phone inquires from WHC departments concerning orders/deliveries.Checks department's data inquiry system and responds to caller.
Labels individual items pulled from bulk stock with barcode.
Pulls stock supplies, from stock requisitions and/or faxes, and places picked supplies in the designated staging area by zone for distribution.
May deliver supplies to WHC from the warehouse by driving a truck or van.Assists in or accomplishes the collection, packaging, shipment, and documentation of goods/items returned to vendor(s).
Participates in taking physical inventories.
Pulls trash as necessary and maintains the work area(s) in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
May perform the duties of a Material Handler as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GEDrequired
May require up to l year of technical or other specialized training.
Experience
6 to 12 months experience required
Experience in material(s) handling preferred
Licenses and Certifications
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State (DRLIC)required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires the ability to read and write; and knowledge of grammar, and arithmetic including fractions and decimals.
May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e., typewriter, personal computer, data terminal, on-line printer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, copier, sterilizing equipment, blood pressure cuff, or tables); the preparation, comparison or checking of reports, records and related data; and basic use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings and knowledge of their application.
