    Description

    The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for the scanning and coding of checks received in office. This role will handle the transfer of ownership and the recording of settlement documents. This role will also work at resolving AR discrepancies.

    Requirements

    • Track incoming checks and scan timely.
    • Monitor the number of checks received in office and actively work to lower the number.
    • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
    • Prepare daily manual deposits.
    • Research unit owner inquiries regarding their ledgers and balances.
    • Record ownership transfers from settlement documents.
    • Accurately interpret settlement documents to place correct charges on newly created accounts.
    • Prepare general entry for prepaid loans that occur at settlement.
    • Interact with managers regarding unit sales and transfers needed.
    • Follow up with settlement companies regarding documents and checks not received.
    • Ensure zero balance for previous owner at the time of transfer.
    • Track non-zero balances for previous owners and actively work to remove balances created during unit transfers.
    • Research and resolve previous owners with balances due.
    • Coordinate with AP to print in house checks.
    • Research AP checks received in house to assign the correct association and GL code.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Education & Experience
    • Associate degree or the equivalent years of experience.
    • 2 years of specialized accounts receivable experience.
    • Real estate or property management experience preferred.
    Qualifications
    • Must have a strong work ethic.
    • Must be a self-starter.
    • Must be able to follow standard filing procedures.
    • Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable.
    • Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch, Vantaca experience a plus.
    • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, research and solution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
    • Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion when disseminating.
    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
    • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
    This job operates in a clerical and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This role is fully in office.

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
