The Shipping Logistics Specialist is responsible for receiving and processing all inbound deliveries and outbound shipments accurately, efficiently, and timely; effectively communicating updates, issues, and delays.
Working in a warehouse environment, the Shipping Logistics Specialist's duties range from accessing data using the company ERP system, preparing shipments through parcel and freight shipping companies online, to matching and attaching corresponding paperwork, maintaining records, and routing products accordingly.
REPORTS TO
The Shipping Logistics Specialist directly reports to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Education, Training, and/or Experience
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, distribution, or related field
Forklift experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
Frequently required to climb ladders/stairs, twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and reach
Occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time
Regularly required to lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
Hearing level within normal/average range
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Ability to use ERP system and various shipping profiles
Ability to adapt while maintaining level-headedness in higher stress situations to meet deadlines
Ability to operate tools and power tools to prepare shipments
Ability to operate machinery including, but not limited to: forklifts, pallet bander, drill, pallet jack
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Handle all contents and packages with care
Prepare and package orders for shipment using protective measures to prevent damage during transit
Create shipping labels with accurate details, instruction, tracking and traceability
Process orders and stage outgoing shipments for scheduled pickups
Verify shipments and receive deliveries against purchase orders and pack slips
Address defective or incorrect shipments immediately
Communicate product arrival, changes, or delays in a timely manner
Develop and maintain positive relationships with freight and external logistics vendors
Monitor delivery bays
Assist in loading and unloading trucks by hand or by using carts, hand trucks, or forklifts
Route material to corresponding departments
Organize and move warehouse inventory; shrink-wrap pallets
Assemble wood and cardboard containers for shipment
Maintain accurate shipping records
Assist with inventory counts of raw and finished goods
Analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Other duties as assigned
