    Buyer / Purchasing Agent

    • Location: Florham Park, NJ
    • Compensation: $65,000-$75,000

    Buyer/Purchasing Agent - preferably from medical devices w/at least 5 years experience. MS D365 a huge plus

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • • Manages and adheres to budget guidelines with strong ability to handle contract negotiation with Management approvals.
    • • Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantees.
    • • Reviews annually and develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
      • Establishes account/credit and terms.
    • • Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers
    • • Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders.
    • • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws.
    • • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
    • • Develops and implements cost saving measures; Contributes to profits and revenue; Conserves organizational resources.
    • • Handles purchase requests for manufacturing raw materials, OEM, and MRO products and outside services. Procures pricing and delivery information, reviews requisitions.
    • • Issues P.O.s, performs vendor sourcing and order expediting. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
    • • Works with manufacturing to establish re-order points, based on delivery terms.
    • • Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
    • • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or competitive bids.
    • • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
    • • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Inputs accurate data such as costs, item number, account numbers and quantities as required.
    • • Alerts production to issues which may cause schedule changes or interruption to supply chain. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
    • • Maintains accurate paperwork and online reporting in a timely fashion as required.
    • • Expedites delivery of goods to users

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years related buyer/procurement/supply chain experience and/or training; experience in the medical or medical device industry highly preferred.
      • APICS certification highly desired.
    • • Kaizen and/or lean manufacturing experience a plus.
    • • Must have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented with effective problem-solving skills.
    • • Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • • Professional etiquette, strong communication and interpersonal skills needed.
    • • Familiarity with various manufacturing systems, MS Office and advanced excel skills necessary.
    • • May be some local travel to vendors.
    • • Must be a team player and proactive in solving issues.
