The Division and its employees are dedicated to upholding justice in Connecticut fairly and equally. Currently, we are looking for a full-time team member to join our Rocky Hill office team. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, with core hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that this is an Unclassified position.Role
The selected individual will undertake various professional accounting and administrative responsibilities within the Financial Services Unit, including:Selection Plan
Salary calculations may vary for current state employees across different branches of state government. Within the Division of Criminal Justice, this position is responsible for supervising various fiscal and administrative functions.Examples of Duties
The job responsibilities may include: planning office workflow, overseeing work assignments, maintaining office procedures, providing staff training, conducting performance evaluations, liaising with other units and agencies, preparing financial statements and reports, budget planning, overseeing accounting records, and supervising various fiscal and administrative functions.Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
The ideal candidate should possess considerable knowledge of public administration, governmental budget management, governmental accounting, grants, contracts, purchasing, personnel, and payroll practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, and financial analysis skills are essential. Supervisory skills are also vital for this role.Minimum Qualifications
General experience should include seven (7) years of fiscal administrative functions, with at least one year at a professional level of Fiscal/Administrative Officer or Accountant. Substitutions for experience are allowed based on college training and relevant degrees.Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in applying contract terms to financial grant documents, reconciling federal accounts, reviewing expenditure data, interpreting GAAP accounting methods, using Microsoft Office 365 Suite with emphasis on Excel, utilizing Federal Databases, and superb interpersonal and communication skills.Conclusion
