IT Business Analyst

to join our dynamic team. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for bridging the gap between business objectives and IT capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of business processes and technology solutions.

This is a remote position; however candidates are preferred based in Washington D.C. Metro area.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

SWOT Analysis:
Perform SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to evaluate current IT systems and processes.

Identify internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats related to IT infrastructure and business operations for improvement, automation, and efficiency enhancements.

Gap Analysis:
Perform comprehensive GAP analysis to identify discrepancies between current and desired performance levels. Document gaps in processes, systems, and performance metrics. Work with solution architect to develop actionable strategies and solutions to bridge identified gaps.

Solution Design:
Work closely with IT and development teams to design and implement technology solutions that align with business needs.

Project Management:

Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.

Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as a liaison between business units and IT teams, facilitating effective communication and ensuring a clear understanding of project goals and requirements.

Data Analysis:
Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and provide actionable insights to business leaders.

Testing and Quality Assurance:
Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of IT solutions.

Training and Support:
Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they understand and effectively utilize new systems and processes.

Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements, processes, and system configurations.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or in a similar role.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, as well as familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and propose effective solutions.

Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of database management, system integration, and software development lifecycle.

Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are a plus.
