    Desktop Support Technician at Generís Tek

    Position Detail

    • Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite)
    • Project Duration: 3+ weeks

    Job Summary:
    A Desktop Support Technician is vital for providing technical assistance to end-users within the organization. They ensure that computer hardware, software, and peripherals are working correctly, allowing employees to perform their tasks efficiently.

    This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues with desktops, laptops, and other devices. The technician acts as a central point for support, ensuring the smooth operation of IT equipment for maximum productivity. Responsibilities include installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of end-user devices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Technical Support: Respond to IT inquiries and troubleshoot desktop, laptop, and printer issues.
    • Hardware Maintenance: Install and maintain hardware components.
    • Software Support: Configure software applications and troubleshoot OS issues.
    • Network Connectivity: Troubleshoot wired and wireless connections.
    • Remote Assistance: Provide support to off-site employees.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate support records and update knowledge base.
    • Security Compliance: Ensure devices comply with security policies.
    • Collaboration: Work with IT teams to improve system performance.
    • Training: Assist with the training of new devices or software.

    Qualifications:

    • Required: Bachelor's or associate's degree in computer science, IT, or related field, and CompTIA A+ certification.
    • Preferred: Same as required plus three or more years of work experience.

    KSA's:

    • Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems and common software.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Relevant certifications are advantageous.
