- Create and implement a grant strategy, identifying funding opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Coordinate the grant application process from start to finish, including submission, follow-up, and reporting.
- Manage the preparation of solicitation materials, such as briefing memos, fundraising decks, and other materials.
- Identify and examine prospective donors.
- Create fundraising, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for donors.
- Identify, propose, and implement strategic activities and content that provide opportunities for donors to connect with the organization in a meaningful way.
- Create and manage a donor communications plan that leverages the organization's communications and marketing strategies.
- Support the coordination and scheduling of meetings and solicitations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor's degree and 4-5 years of relevant work experience, or 6-7 years of relevant work experience without a degree required.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated success in securing funds through grant writing and individual fundraising, focusing on prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation and stewardship.
- An excellent communicator with strong verbal and writing skills who excels both at creating fundraising strategies, as well as a frontline fundraiser.
- Creative, entrepreneurial, and team-driven spirit.
- Demonstrated ability to independently organize, plan, and carry out activities to meet specific timelines and goals. Adaptable to change as needed.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Experience with Email Marketing and Graphic Design (MailChimp and Canva) a plus.
- Ability to work successfully in a remote office environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally.

About Power to DecidePower to Decide is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Our mission is to advance sexual and reproductive well-being for all, with a focus on abortion and contraception. We accomplish this by providing trusted information, expanding access to quality services and catalyzing culture change.
Position
The Development Manager is responsible for advancing philanthropic relationships with a range of funder types including individuals, foundations, and corporations. This position will be responsible for creating and implementing a grant strategy, identifying funding opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and objectives. The Development Manager will collaborate with the Development Operations Manager and Vice President, Development in the execution of fundraising appeal and a comprehensive donor communications and engagement strategy.
This is a remote position. However, the preferred location for this position is within reasonable traveling distance to the DC office as a presence in the office monthly, or as necessary, is required.
The Development Manager will report to the Vice President, Development and work closely with the Development Operations Manager, as well as with colleagues across departments.
