    Description


    Thermal Processing Intern

    Now is your chance to gain real world experience in a fast- growing organization where WHAT YOU DO MATTERS AmeriQual Foods, an Evansville, IN based food manufacturing facility, is seeking a self-motivated, ambitious individual to act as a summer intern in our Thermal Processing department. This position will work directly with our Thermal and Operational teams and will gain valuable insight on day to day retort and thermal processing operations in a manufacturing setting.

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Pay: Up to $15 per hour based on experience

    Responsibilities:

    Assignments will be based on organizational needs, but may include:
    • Heat Penetration Testing
    • Temperature distribution testing
    • Post-retort airs, drain weights, and retort vessels
    • Basic equipment wiring and maintenance
    • Test Prep
    Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • Full time student status; preferred majors include Food Science, Biological Engineering, or related discipline
    • Available to work full time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2024
    • Be legally authorized to work in the United States
    • Strong communication and computer skills
    • Strong attention to detail, efficiency, and organizational skills
    Physical requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Position will also frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required.
