    + Minimum: $40,430.00

    + Maximum: $60,372.00

    Position Specifications

    Incumbents in this position provide professional client intake, assessment, and referral services for individuals requesting social service assistance from the City of St. Louis Victims Support Program. Incumbents will provide direct services to victims and their families of violent crimes such as domestic violence, murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Incumbents will also work with the City Counselors Office to provide information on victims rights, safety planning, and the criminal justice process. Other duties may include: participating in community outreach efforts, representing OVP at meetings and events, and participating in meetings with community groups and other organizations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A Bachelors degree in Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice Administration, Political Science, or a related field, plus one year of experience with social service programs or case management in a social services agency. OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of filing application. Please note type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application.

    Documentation of academic credentials and drivers license must be submitted upon request.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Two or more years of experience working in social service programs or case management in a social services agency.

Your employment experience and training will be used to determine whether you meet the entrance requirements for this position and to compute your experience and training evaluation.     VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of their DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or upon request. The Director of Personnel may, in their discretion, accept alternate documentation.

    CITY RESIDENTS PREFERENCE POINTS: City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam. An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points. City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
