    About Division of Child and Family Well-Being:


    DHHS has established a new Division of Child and Family Well-Being that focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians.

    This division works to ensure that North Carolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities.

    It will bring together complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs.

    This position has transferred to the Division of Child and Family Well-Being this calendar year.


    Position Description:
    This position coordinates technical processing functions for the State Metabolic Formula Program, serving as the process and procedural expert. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the policies and procedures for the program.

    This position is expected to independently plan and organize activities, communicate and interpret program information, and maintain business accounts and records.

    This position reports to the WIC Policy and Quality Assurance Team Leader.

    Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:


    • Skills to interpret, implement and evaluate policy, procedures and precedents affecting program area(s).
    • Skills in organizing workflow, modifying processes using an advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite or other applicable technology to complete reports and maintain accuracy of placing orders, invoicing, and inventory.
    • Experience with recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data.
    • Capability to work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, work independently and collaboratively, and recognize opportunities to problem solve to attain short- and long-term goals.
    • Excellence in providing customer service and ability to resolve problems and questions posed by customers needing assistance resolving outstanding issues.
    • Ability to practice effective communication in oral and written form.
    Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to degreed candidates.
