    Job Description – Accounting Payroll Clerk


    Department:

    Job Status:
    Full-Time (On-Site)

    FLSA Status:
    Exempt - $45,000 annual salary

    Reports To:
    Controller


    POSITION SUMMARY
    To timely and accurately assist the Controller, Payroll Manager and the Accounting Department with
    confidential duties, including processing payroll, data entry, reporting, GL reconciliations, research,
    preparing and maintaining spreadsheets, special projects, audit prep, trouble-shooting, cross-training
    and filing.
    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Must have a working knowledge of computer operations.
    • Requires a high degree of accuracy in the processing of all payroll and accounting transactions.
    • Must possess excellent data entry skills.
    • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Must be detail oriented but also be able to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be able to work well with others, as well as independently.
    • Must be able to multi task to meet strict deadlines.
    • Must maintain confidentiality and accountability of payroll processes and information.
    • Must have communication and organizational skills.
    • Payroll Experience a plus.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Assisting the Payroll Manager with data entry
    • Overseeing various aspects of the payroll process
    • Collecting Data Timesheets
    • Entering and maintaining employee garnishments
    • Entering new hire information and maintaining employee files
    • Preparing union and project reports
    • General Ledger month end union account reconciliations
    • Assist with audit preparation
    • Special projects, as directed by the Controller or Payroll Manager
    • Assist phone coverage at front desk as needed
    • Research, as directed by the Controller or Payroll Manager
    • Cross training on other Accounting positions for coverage, as directed by the Controller
    • Filing and Organizing
