The Putnam County Personnel Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of
Assistant Personnel Clerk.

This is a Competitive position under New York State Civil Service Law. Per NYS Civil Service Law, any appointment to this position will be made on a Provisional basis, pending the future administration of a Civil Service examination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Either

a) Graduation from high school or possession of a comparable diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience, one (1) year of which must have included experience in the processing of personnel transactions and/or payroll records; or

b) Three (3) years of clerical experience, one (1) year of which must have included experience in the processing of personnel transactions and/or payroll records; or

c) An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated in a) and b).


PLEASE NOTE:

Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S.

Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.


SUBSTITUTION NOTE:

Post-secondary level education may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience indicated above on the basis of thirty (30) college credits per year of experience.
