    Description

    JOB TITLE: Logistics Coordinator

    DEPARTMENT: Operations

    REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

    CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

    Job Overview

    Responsible for day-to-day transportation activities. Helping develop efficient transport operations and optimizing the existing processes.

    You will be advising internal and external customers of freight charges and activities, coordinating the transportation of goods and ensuring timely and safe delivery. In addition, you will be responsible for performing administrative duties such as preparing shipping documents, reports, and maintaining data entries.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinating with colleagues transportation planning and strategies
    • Preparing and maintaining shipment documents and invoices
    • Overseeing the compliance of international and domestic paperwork for shipments
    • Reviewing customer requests and requirements and suggesting transport options
    • Handling any customer transport requests such as ETA, BOL requests, etc.
    • Planning daily transportation schedules and booking transportation with domestic and international shipping suppliers
    • Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods
    • Coordinating loading and unloading activities
    • Developing and implementing new and improved transportation procedures
    • Updating freight charges periodically
    • Managing the transportation budget and checking for improved service options and pricing
    • Verifying invoices from freight carriers for accuracy
    • Supplying information to finance for invoicing of freight to customers

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

    Preferred candidates will have the following:

    At least 1-2 years experience with the following:

    • Supply chain and transportation oversight
    • Knowledge of legal components of domestic and international freight, including BOLs, Packing Lists and other transport document requirements, creating AWBs, Certificates of Origin, CUSMA docs, ISPM-15 Compliance documents)
    • Working with customs and clearing agents globally
    • Researching tariffs and harmonized codes
    • Booking shipments and coordinating with freight forwarders
    • Tracking shipments and obtaining proof of delivery (PODS)

    Preferred candidates will also have the following:

    • Knowledge of transportation and safety standards
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to multitask and work under short deadlines
    • Ability to collaborate with other team members
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Ability to coordinate with managers, drivers, and customers
    • Quick decision-making ability
