    Summary Statement

    This is the entry-level position in this series.

    Essential Functions

    • Recruits, interviews, and assigns volunteers to various settings.
    • Schedules interviews with agencies and maintains follow-up communication.
    • Assesses volunteer needs within agencies and explains the potential for volunteer resources.
    • Develops recruitment plans in the community through various means such as group contracts and media.
    • Collaborates with professional staff to assign volunteers to specific areas.
    • Promotes volunteerism through community events, media engagement, and professional organizations.
    • Designs and conducts orientation and training sessions.
    • Creates recognition plans to appreciate volunteers' efforts in organizations.
    • Maintains records and prepares reports.

    Job Requirements

    JOB REQUIREMENTS for Volunteer Services Coordinator

    Applicants need to demonstrate competence in the following areas:

    • Six months of experience in volunteer recruitment.
    • Six months of experience in interpreting laws and regulations.
    • Six months of experience in narrative report writing.
    • Knowledge of program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.

    Conditions of Hire

    Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The State of Delaware Executive Branch complies with the Federal E-Verify system to confirm work authorization.
