ITM Clinical and Translational Research Local Navigator - Chicago, United States - University of Chicago
Description
DepartmentBSD ITM - Hub Research Capacity
About the Department
The University of Chicago (UC) Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) was created in 2007 to assemble, integrate, and create the intellectual, administrative, and physical resources required to catalyze research and research training in Clinical and Translational Science.
Its ultimate goals are to train scientists and health care providers at UC and in our community to determine the molecular, genetic, pathophysiologic, and social determinants of disease and disease predisposition in individuals; to test interventions directed toward those mechanisms; and to achieve these goals in a way that is rigorous, efficient, ethical, respectful of, and responsive to our community's needs and values.
Over its fifteen years, the ITM has capitalized on the outstanding intellectual and physical resources throughout the University and at ITM affiliate Institutions, Rush University, Argonne National Laboratory, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Loyola University Medicine, Illinois Institute of Technology, Advocate Aurora Health System and Access Community Health Network, and on substantial institutional and CTSA financial investments, to build the infrastructure for a transformative, energized, and self-improving home for clinical and translational research, ensuring the continued progress of clinical and translational science at the University of Chicago, its affiliates, on the South Side of Chicago, and beyond.
The ITM Navigator will provide high-level assistance, counsel, and problem-solving resources to faculty and staff who seek the support and resources of the institute.
Navigators will rely on broad clinical and translational knowledge and experience to quickly and accurately respond to questions and requests for help from anyone at an ITM-related institution and then provide expert guidance and connection to any necessary tools and resources.
Navigators will serve as a single point of contact for investigators and research staff at all ITM institutions who need information and resources to initiate or execute their clinical or translational research studies.
Resources include but are not limited to resources within the ITM proper, existing at the local organization, available through another ITM institution, within the community, or from the CTSA consortium as a whole.
All Navigators will work independently to provide high-level assistance, counsel, and problem-solving advice to faculty and staff who seek the support or resources of the ITM.
The UChicago Clinical and Translational Research Navigator is part of a multi-institutional team of Clinical and Translational Research Navigators and Community Research Navigators reporting to the Principal Navigator.
