Description
Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Property Inspector (Specialist) is responsible for the daily management of the Department's telecommunications inventory and accounts for over 100,000 assets for one half of the state.
The Property Inspector is responsible for receiving new equipment, documenting the serial numbers, affixing CHP asset numbers, and deploying the equipment to the field.
- This position is also responsible for receiving old equipment and completing the survey process to transfer or dispose of the items; responsible for gathering and collecting equipment transfer documents from various entities, i.e., records of equipment transfers into and out of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services Public Safety Communications, and between the Telecommunications Section Warehouse and Fleet Operations Section, and equipment deployed to the field. The Property Inspector responds to requests for information from various CHP commands, Administrative Services Division, and the Office of Inspector General. The Property Inspector will be required to travel a minimum of 25% of the time to account for CHP telecommunications inventory statewide.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each applicant's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Each question must be numbered and addressed in the same order as the questions below. The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and 12point Arial font. - Describe a situation when they had to investigate discrepancies in inventory.
