Under the direction of a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor I, duties include operating radio console, transmit and receive radio traffic; document information in CAD or on cards; dispatch appropriate personnel and resources; answer both emergency and non-emergency calls from officers, public, media and allied agencies; use of computer equipment, access information, enter and update various data bases; monitor and utilize communications related equipment; maintain related logs and files; use maps and manuals to access information; sitting/standing for prolonged periods of time.

Working Conditions


Chico Communications Center PSD's are on the 03/12 Alternate Workweek, with seniority sign-ups for shift selection and regular days off.
