- Negotiate complex SaaS agreements with customers in highly regulated industries
- Manage a small team of commercial lawyers
- Mentor and develop other legal team members
- Establish and foster strong and impactful relationships with sales leadership
- Be a strategic partner for the sales team
- Provide counsel and advice to cross-functional stakeholders
- Understand and implement key IP, commercial, and finance requirements
- Drive compliance in day-to-day sales activities, including providing training
- Drive updates to legal team templates, precedents & processes
- Lead wider company projects assigned to the Commercial & Product team
- A strong and engaging leader with the presence and ability to engage, influence, manage effectively and inspire colleagues
- Someone with a practical and customer-centric orientation and negotiation style
- An excellent project manager and able to take ownership of stakeholders and solutions
- Resourceful and solution-oriented
- Able to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization
- Adaptable to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- 12+ years of transactional legal experience on complex customer contracts
- 5+ years of experience working in SaaS
- 3+ years of managing a small team.
- JD from an accredited U.S. law school required.
- Member of a State Bar in good standing Proprietary
- Privacy, GRC or Ethics & Compliance experience
- Experience using Salesforce and Ironclad

This includes coming into the office for our Company Kickoff, Company All Hands, and other larger company events. The ChallengeWe're hiring a collaborative, agile, business-focused Legal Director (Commercial & Product) who will report to the Assistant General Counsel (Commercial & Product). The position will be responsible for a broad spectrum of commercial legal matters and managing a small team.
Your MissionFor California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
