    Summary

    This position is in the Diversity Recruitment and Outreach Branch, Division of Workforce Development and Inclusion (DWDI), Office of Human Resources (OHR), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Department of Labor (DOL).

    This position is outside the bargaining unit.

    Duties

    The selectee will report to an assigned DOL office location on a regular basis and be eligible for telework as determined by agency policy. This is not a remote position. Offices are located in Washington DC; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA. For specific locations, please see: . Advertised salary reflects the pay range for the above locations. Upon selection, the salary will be set in accordance with the selectee's assigned duty location.

    Major duties at the GS-11 level include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide the full range of advisory services to assigned agencies in the areas of recruitment and outreach
  • Provide details surrounding various hiring authorities.
  • Research agency hiring needs to include assessing demographics.
  • Utilize various platforms and social media to source applicants for hard to fill positions.
  • Work in LinkedIn and Agency Talent portal as well as Handshake to register and promote events and source candidates.
  • Use automated personnel data systems to document, review, correct, amend, and analyze information.
  • Communicate in a professional manner, treating customers with tact and diplomacy, when working with difficult/complex issues.
  • Prepare written correspondence appropriate to audience as well as presentations.
  • Serve as a consultant to management and makes informed decisions while responding to their inquiries.
  • Determine and develop broad/strategic approaches to address recruitment activities regarding hard-to-fill positions.
    • The GS-9 position has similar duties; however, responsibilities are less complex and work is performed with greater guidance from the supervisor or other specialists.
