    Procurement Coordinator - Perris, United States - Spherion

    Description


    Our client, a manufacturer of baked goods, is looking for a motivated and experienced Procurement Coordinator to join their team.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure precise and prompt processing of purchase orders, along with timely updates on estimated time of arrival (ETA), while upholding strict inventory management practices and adhering to company policies and protocols.

    3 or more years of buying experience in the food manufacturing industry is required for this role.


    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze raw material inventory levels by obtaining inventory requirements following production demand.
    • Review and adjust inventory PAR levels accurately.
    • Perform physical inventory daily and process orders accordingly.
    • See purchase orders through to completion. Coordinate and verify with receiving team.
    • Initiate and followup with Vendor any returns / damages.
    • Responsible for ensuring accurate inventory, must investigate any discrepancies.
    • Submit purchase orders with approved vendors according to inventory requirements.
    • Verify all submitted orders are received by vendors.
    • Report any inaccuracies to management and/or update the purchase order with correct information.
    • Inquire on all past due purchase orders and backorders.
    • Assist Accounts Payable in the resolution of all invoice issues which will require interaction with the original requester, external vendors, and AP processors to resolve any invoice/PO discrepancies.
    • Update sales orders and purchase orders with current ETAs as necessary
    • Reconcile receiving discrepancies.
    • Meet with suppliers as needed to provide forecast and commit volume in collaboration with upper management for FTL or special buy with current suppliers.
    • For commodity items, must review pricing daily to ensure prices are competitive without lowering our quality standards.

    • Experience with online shopping required.
    • Proficiency with computers and other software as required.
