What You'll Do:


Parts Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement, distribution, inventory control, and maintenance of automotive and equipment parts for SVT fleet.

The role of a parts specialist requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Knowledge of automotive or equipment parts, supply chain management, and inventory control principles is essential.

With their contributions, fleet parts people play a crucial role in keeping the organization's vehicles and equipment operational, minimizing downtime, and optimizing maintenance processes.


Job Duties:


  • Keeping track of the organization's parts inventory, ensuring that an adequate supply of essential parts is maintained while minimizing excess stock.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, reordering parts as needed, and managing the stock to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Sourcing parts from suppliers or manufacturers, negotiating prices, and placing orders to ensure timely and costeffective procurement of parts. This includes verifying the quality and compatibility of parts with the organization's vehicles or equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors, evaluating their performance, and seeking opportunities for cost savings and improved service.
  • Coordinating the distribution of parts to the appropriate locations within the organization, whether it's a central warehouse, repair shops, or field service locations.
  • Having a good understanding of the vehicles or equipment in the fleet, including their mechanical components and parts. This knowledge helps in identifying the right parts for repairs and replacements.
  • Record Keeping: Keeping accurate records of parts transactions, orders, and inventory levels. This information is crucial for tracking expenses, analyzing usage patterns, and making informed decisions.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with mechanics, technicians, and maintenance personnel to understand their parts requirements and ensure that the right parts are available when needed.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring costs associated with parts procurement and inventory management, identifying opportunities to reduce expenses, and implementing costeffective practices.
  • Research: Staying updated with industry trends, new parts, and advancements in technology to recommend improvements in parts selection and procurement processes.
  • Problem Solving: Addressing issues related to parts availability, compatibility, and quality, and finding quick solutions to ensure mínimal disruption to operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all parts meet safety and regulatory standards, especially in industries where safety is a top concern.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive/diesel technology is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as an automotive/Diesel technician or in a similar role.
  • Experience in the trucking industry preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and suspension.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and equipment.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • ASE certifications or equivalent are a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical and lift.

Compensation:

- $27.00-$35.00/hourly depending on experience
