- Assist in monthly close processes, including preparing journal entries
- Perform detailed account reconciliations
- Prepare complete and easy-to-follow work papers explaining issues, procedures, and conclusion
- Apply knowledge of accounting theories
- Contribute to the development of business processes and accounting policies
- Work on ad hoc projects with the Accounting Manager
- Assist with preparation of year-end annual audit (Audit experience is a plus)
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of reports for management and external auditors
- Assist in developing and preparing analytical and statistical reports to support management decision-making
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent Excel skills
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Preferably prior experience within the financial services industry (lending or financing, mortgage origination or servicing, insurance, or alternative financial services)
- Public accounting experience
- Experience with NetSuite (or other ERP system)
- CPA license (or working towards CPA license) is a plus
