Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during the interview process._The Accounting Associate is responsible for assisting with the activities of the overall general accounting function. Will oversee, implement and maintain accounting systems, procedures and policies.
This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and acts as liaison between the company, agencies, vendors, and CPA auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide overall accounting support (A/R, A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, tax payments, special reports to assist with agency metrics, and month end reports), as assigned.
- Issue checks, transfer funds, prepare and record deposits, reconcile bank accounts and cash books with the General Ledger.
- File, Scan, Journal Entries.
- Print online commission statements and post commissions received.
- Print online Production reports.
- Assist in the budget process as needed, especially for assigned agencies.
- Manage financial statement preparation and month end and quarterly closing.
- Serve as company liaison with auditors as needed.
- Perform all basic accounting procedures, financial statement preparation, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, and fixed assets and margin analysis; prepare supporting schedules for financial statements preparation.
- Communicate with carriers, agencies, etc. to address any past due invoices on their account and provide weekly status updates to management.
- Reconciliate as needed (clients billing, carrier reports, commission, and expense variances).
- Provide guidance to agencies on accounting, billing, and expense issues.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Businessrelated field preferred

- Basic data base experience, 10key by touch, calculator
- Able to enter accurate financial /numerical data
- Analytical and critical problemsolving skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel, QuickBooks or other accounting software, and EPIC
- Basic to intermediate computer and typing skills
