- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and procedures to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ensure process scale its impact on the business will optimize the speed to market.
- Manage the regulatory requirements to develop, deploy and operate the companys diverse and advanced products.
- Assist in the strategy development for new business.
- Manage relationships with Government regulatory agencies.
- Negotiate license and services agreements.
- Represent the legal team in relationships with outside counsel, vendors, engineers, executives, customers, and regulators.
- Represent the company in regulatory inquiries, audits, and investigations, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to regulatory authorities.
- Represent the Senior Director of Compliance and other compliance attorneys within the company to expand the teams ability to provide timely advice and guidance across a variety of compliance issues.
- JD, Licensed to practice law in CA or DC
- 3-5+ years of experience with export controls, including jurisdiction and classification analysis and license applications for both the EAR and ITAR (or UK or EU equivalents)
- 3-5+ years of experience with spectrum management laws and regulations (US, UK, or EU)
- 3-5+ years of experience with aviation laws and regulations (US, UK, or EU)
- U.S. Person status is required because the role requires access to export-controlled information.
- Willing and able to travel at least 15% of time
- Combination of law-firm and in-house/government experience
- Experience working with the Department of Defense while in private practice is a huge plus
