    Description

    Firm Advice has a great opportunity for an Export Compliance Attorney to join an international, household name conglomerate with this temp / contract / interim to possible hire opportunity. You will assist the GC and business partners in implementing and managing the Ethics and Compliance program. The areas in which you will primarily provide legal advice will include Import and Export Controls and U.S. Embargoes, and Sanctions.

    You will prepare relevant policies, provide advice on export issues, lead internal reviews and necessary remedial action, provide ongoing training, respond to compliance questionnaires and negotiate compliance related clauses in contracts, conduct due diligence on third parties as well as for travel, gift, entertainment, donation, and sponsorships.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • JD and in good standing in a State Bar.
    • 3 plus years' relevant experience; in-house experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with U.S. law and regulations surrounding international trade, including customs and import, export, BIS, OAC, investment, CFIUS, DDTC, sanctions, OFAC, antiboycott, U.S. Embargoes and Sanctions, and BEA.
