The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Southeastern Veterans' Center is seeking a compassionate individual who is outgoing and motivated to enhance the lives of the men and women who served for our great country.

As a Therapeutic Activities Aide, you will conduct planned sessions of resident activities under the direction of Therapeutic Recreational Services staff that will lead residents of the Southeastern Veterans' Center to their highest level of physical, cognitive, and social abilities.

In this position, you will conduct and participate in program activities such as social parties, dances, dinners, bus or van rides, table games, field trips, clubs, movies, bingo, shopping, bowling, crafts, games, fishing, music, exercise, picnics, gardening, and leisure time spectator activities.

You will instruct or assist residents individually and in group sessions creating a safe and pleasant atmosphere.

Full-time employment (40-hour work week)

Shifts available include:

9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Sunday - Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off
11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and

Training Requirements:
Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (commonwealth title); Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; An equivalent combination of experience and training

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
