    Facilities Building Services Coordinator - Houston, United States - Metropolitan Transit Authority

    Basic Function

    Maintains building utilization data and facilities furniture inventory using an automated computerized maintenance system. Coordinates employee moves, cubicle reconfigurations and purchases furniture. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

    Responsibilities and Specific Duties


    • Acts as point of contact for building services and user needs.
    • Updates and maintains electronic building moves & employee records in database system.
    • Coordinates employee moves and reconfiguration requests. Arranges for delivery of moving packing materials.
    • Works with vendors to obtain quotes on furniture, reconfiguration, and employee moves.
    • Creates shopping carts for services needed related to employees' moves, reconfiguration and furniture purchases and others as requested by Management.
    • Maintains a furniture catalog list updated based on current policy and guidelines.
    • Performs Asset Disposal Request for furniture and assist with the disposal of these assets.
    • Keeps track of all expenses related to employee moves, reconfiguration and furniture as requested by Management.
    • Prepares reports (weekly, monthly) regarding building management activities.
    • Maintains building drawing files (CAD)
    • Maintains records of all the procurement items related to space management.
    • Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
    • Applies SMS (Safety Management System) methods and principles in daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency's Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
    • Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
    Education Requirement

    High school or GED required. Additional related coursework desired.

    Years & Experience Required


    Minimum of five (5) years of administrative work experience in Facilities Maintenance or similar working environment working with automated computerized maintenance system.

    Project management skills a plus.

    Knowledge & Skills Required

    Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Excellent Customer Service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, intermediate Excel and working knowledge of AutoCAD Graphics.
