    Position Title: Construction Accounting Manager

    Location: Chandler AZ, Tucson, AZ

    Job Description:

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager to oversee and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in construction accounting, job cost coding, and managing various financial functions including HR, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and general entries. This role requires proficiency in accounting software such as Sage 300 or equivalent, along with advanced computer skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and supervise daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end processes, job costing, AP/AR, cash management, general ledger maintenance, payroll, and budgeting.
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and statements.
    • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure compliance and accuracy.
    • Coordinate and facilitate annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
    • Identify areas for improvement in systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions as needed.
    • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely completion of tasks.
    • Maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions and ensure audit trail integrity.

    Requirements and Skills:

    • Proven experience in Construction accounting, with a strong understanding of job cost coding and related processes.
    • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage 300 or equivalent, and advanced skills in MS Office and database management.
    • Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively.
    • Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
