- Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions, or organizations.

- Operates 10-key calculators and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
- Debits, credits, and totals accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
- Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Reconciles or notes and reports discrepancies found in records.
- Resolves discrepancies in accounting records.
- Compiles statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, and accounts payable.
- Accesses computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
- Process vendor invoices, checks requests, cash advances, expense reports and journal entries.
- Reviews purchase orders, vendor invoices, check requests, cash advances, expense reports, and journal entries, for accuracy.
- Generates reports to ensure timely information is available for management use.
- Scans and files forms and documents using electronic/manual filing systems to ensure appropriate document retention.
- Performs general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
- Matches order forms with invoices and records the necessary information.
- Processes, tracks and maintain records of invoices and supporting documents to ensure accurate revenue recognition or payment reporting.
- Calculates and prepares checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
- Monitors status of vendor accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries and resolves routine problems in a thorough and timely manner.
- Audits data and corrects discrepancies to ensure payments comply with NSU expense policies and Federal regulations.
- Tests programs or databases, corrects errors, and makes necessary modifications.
- Helps programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs.
- Assists in developing training materials and procedures, and trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.
- Serves as trainer and mentor for junior employees.
- Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Basic knowledge of MS Access and/or other database reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of Banner, Ariba and Concur.
