    Description

    Community Solar Developer

Reporting to our Chief Investment Officer, you will be ideally based out of our NYC office and be able to periodically travel to project sites in the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, and possibly California.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Guide a pipeline of projects successfully from early-stage development to construction or 'notice to proceed.'
    • Oversee site acquisition and site control diligence, positive landowner relations, and associated real estate processes.
    • Manage the outsourcing and reviewing of environmental and geotechnical studies to mitigate impacts.
    • Manage third-party engineering studies and permitting. Coordinate with in-house engineering resources to confirm site plans and timelines for all studies and permits.
    • Maintain positive relationships with utilities and navigate interconnection process offtake.
    • Support project acquisition efforts including in some cases, attending town hall meetings, or assisting partners with the acquisition of PILOTs and other tax exemptions/abatements.
    • Stay abreast of local and federal policies regarding our active markets. Close out open items and red flags that local counsel raises in terms of real estate, permitting, and interconnection.
    • Track and report project progress, and spending versus budget on soft costs required to get projects ready for handoff to an EPC.
    • Review and manage state, federal, and local permitting efforts and approval processes for projects.
    • Manage projects through interconnection working with engineers to optimize project designs.
    • Provide project due diligence and development recommendations, as needed.
    • Perform critical reviews of third-party reports and bids.
    • Build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
    • Manage and coordinate multiple projects with other team members in an organized, flawless manner.
    • Gather market intelligence and continuously strive to be an industry-leading thinker.

    The Ideal Candidate

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
    • 10+ years of proven experience in project management within the solar industry with the ability to apply the knowledge to our current project pipeline in NY, CA, NJ, and MD, with future potential to expand to other regions.
    • Possess a passion for sustainability and dedication to our mission.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Highly organized and self-motivated, with determination to work through challenges.
