    ROLE SUMMARY

    The National Sales Advisor (NSA) is an integral member of the National Accounts sales team and partners closely with the new and existing business sales team members to enable and support the growth of client and consultant relationships within the segment. The NSA owns the RFP/RFI process, influences strategy, and navigates the enterprise to coordinate the most complex, high profile opportunities. The NSA serves as a mentor and leader amongst peers.

    ROLE COMPONENTS

    RFP Project Manager

    • Manages end-to-end RFP process for new and existing business across all lines of business
    • Manages multiple complex RFPs with aggressive deadlines and diverse formats that are high profile, highly non-standard, and with high risk of retention
    • Facilitates How to Win (HTW) / Prospect Qualification process
    • Leads HTW call, PM Briefing call in partnership and consultation with NST/NAE
    • Exhibits composure and proficient presentation skills to independently present to Senior Leadership
    • Consultative partner to NST/NAE and leadership during identification of viable bids, strategy development, and determination of path to win
    • Influences client-specific strategy with NST/NAE; applies and disseminates during RFP process
    • Engages standard matrix partners as needed based on RFP specifications
    • Navigates the enterprise with agility to engage appropriate matrix partners on standard and non-standard requests
    • Edits/Manipulates matrix partner output, i.e., plan designs from PBAB, disruption results from RSU, etc.
    • Reviews questionnaire draft end-to-end prior to submission, strategically enhancing the response in line with path to win
    • Provides RFP data to NST/NAE for finalist meeting, supporting NST/NAE with meeting preparation which may include convening SMEs, identifying attendees, preparing agenda item responses
    • Ensure entry and accuracy

    Strategic Partner – Internal & External

    • Manages relationships with sales and account team members, UW, other matrix partners including an extended network of key stakeholders for non-standard bids
    • Communicates externally with consultants, including related to missing data, logistical elements of RFPs
    • Fosters deeper relationships with consultants allowing for open communication around RFP responses and analysis/feedback, expected RFPs, and Cigna's overall capabilities
    • Maintains close working relationship with key management to ensure smooth facilitation of feedback and improvement requests as needed to help strengthen go-forward processes

    Subject Matter Expert

    • Maintains and enhances knowledge of Cigna products and capabilities to include in RFPs
    • Identifies applicable solutions to quote in RFPs based on consultant/client issues and requests
    • Demonstrates expert level of understanding of Cigna's processes, solutions, strategy
    • Understands and applies all established processes and SOPs
    • Proactively participates in segment-wide trainings and discussions as an active learner to establish and uphold baseline knowledge
    • Facilitates partnerships with solutions, operations and other critical business partners for new solutions where process/content are not developed
    • Prowess to convert ambiguous RFP requests into tangible and workable solutions
    • Synthesizes and digests information from trainings, discussions, and experiences; disseminates learnings to colleagues that can be applied to responsibilities of role

    Team Leader

    • Identifies and leads off-season process improvement projects, segment initiatives
    • Mentors and trains new team members
    • Shares recommendations, spearheading development and sharing of best practices with peers related to issues that impact the day-to-day obligations of NSA team
    • Actively participates during team meetings, recommending agenda items to management for team meetings and providing thought leadership around these topics
    • Participates in hiring discussions, interview process for team

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with healthcare RFPs for some or all of the following lines of business: medical, dental, pharmacy, clinical, behavioral, vision
    • Knowledge of healthcare industry including trends, products, processes
    • Strong presentation skills; ability to modify communication delivery based on audience
    • Exceptional project management skills
    • Expert organizational skills; ability to plan for both the long and short term; ability to work on many issues at once and to prioritize work
    • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with matrix partners to drive deliverables
    • Familiarity with
    • Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent work experience
    If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 80, ,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

    This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
