ResponsibilitiesAbout Manatee Memorial Hospital (MMH):
Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over 70 years.
The 295-bed hospital with over 800 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment.
Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services — including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, a weight–loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women's and children's services.
Manatee Memorial Hospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs.The Stroke Coordinator of the Manatee Health System provides oversight and coordination of all elements of the Cerebrovascular and Neurosciences Program under the guidance and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer.
Responsibilities include the planning, organizing, educating, and evaluation of patient care within the program as well as compliance with regulatory bodies and national guidelines for stroke management.
This position helps to develop and maintain high quality, evidence-based care through education and training as well as initiating and overseeing stoke related accreditations.
This position supports the MMHHS Cerebrovascular and Neurosciences Program stroke measures and guidelines. Maintains a strong component of patient/family advocacy with day to day review and coordination of multidisciplinary services. The Stroke Coordinator may participate on assigned hospital and medical committees. The Stroke Coordinator under the guidance of the medical director and CNOwill assist in implementation and operations of a TIA clinic as part of the MMHHS
Cerebrovascular and Neurosciences Program .

Qualifications
Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing
BSN, required
Current RN licensure in Florida
Current BLS through American Heart Association
Current ACLS through American Heart Association
Current NIH Stroke Certification
CNRN Certification
ASLS Instructor Certification
Minimum of five years experience in emergency/critical care/neuro nursing and in the care of stroke patients, with advanced skills
Program development, management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards
