    Job Description

    Hilltop Holdings is looking for an Associate Risk Analyst to provide support to the Enterprise Risk Management platform at Hilltop Holdings and its subsidiaries, through data analytics, including but not limited to identifying key risks and trends. Develop, maintain, and produce reporting across the enterprise to drive actionable insights for executive management and governance committees.

    Responsibilities
    • Support the creation of analyses that provide key insights to drive actionable results
    • Support corporate objectives and initiatives by providing accurate and timely data collection, aggregation, and analyses from various data sources across the enterprise
    • Implement and maintain analytical reports across a wide variety of subjects such as credit risk, counterparty risk, foreign exchange risk, and liquidity risk across the enterprise including bank, broker dealer, and mortgage subsidiaries
    • Produce regular reporting packages for multiple management groups including senior and executive management committees
    • Communicate results of data analyses in written and/or verbal form to team leaders and managers, as appropriate
    • Regularly examine data analyses and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the analyses and data sources
    • Author and maintain documentation to reflect processes and procedures for related activities
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field
    • 1 - 3 years of experience in data analytics
    • Working knowledge of banking, broker dealer, and mortgage products and operations
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Strong PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems
    • Working knowledge of data analytics, report preparation, and data visualization using tools such as Excel, Python, SQL, Power BI, and PowerPoint
    • Strong analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
    • Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, ability to work effectively across the enterprise, accountability, and attention to detail

    About the Team

    Hilltop Holdings' Risk Advisory department provides independent and objective enterprise and operational risk management advisory services to assist management in the identification, measurement, and monitoring of threats to strategic and management objectives. We apply a systematic approach to develop risk metrics, execute risk assessments, and evaluate loss events across Hilltop and its operating companies-PlainsCapital Bank, PrimeLending, and HilltopSecurities. Risk Advisory is a function within the Corporate Risk department, which also includes other Risk functions such as Counterparty Risk, Quantitative Risk, and Loan Review.
