    This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

    Reporting to the Director of Taxation, the primary function of this newly created role is to lead business transformation efforts for the tax function.

    The Business Transformation Lead will be responsible for driving transformation efforts by identifying, recommending, and implementing business process improvements and technology solutions, while collaborating with internal partners at all levels of the organization, both within Tax and across the firm.

    What you will do:
    Business Process EnhancementCreate business process map for key tax functions including data capture, usage, and deployment.
    Review existing business process map to identify inefficiencies and manual processes to be streamlined and/or automated.
    Recommend future state business process and technology solutions to address the above findings.
    Work closely with business to prioritize, plan for, and implement new solutions.
    Establish robust data governance practices.

    Lead and manage Business Transformation special projects, including:

    Global Tax Compliance oversight initiatives:

    Tax compliance workflow tracker – identify and implement technology to effectively monitor global tax compliance obligations (status, dashboarding)Tax analytics – identify and implement technology to enable risk-based review of annual tax compliance computations and draw insights.

    Develop executive dashboard reporting


    that allows leadership to effectively monitor other tax team metrics and KPIs, e.g., productivity, onboarding capabilities, timely fulfillment of investor requests.

    Tax Risk Control Matrix (RCM)

    - assess tax risks, document controls (e.g., P&Ps), measure residual risk, create KRIs and escalation/reporting process.
    New Product launches

    - develop processes to operationalize fund tax compliance including data gathering, outsourcing, and investor delivery.

    Identify, recommend, and implement automation of existing processes:
    GP Tax estimate process, e.g., automating IRR calculations for tax carry.
    Direct investment support – build process to efficiently capture tax data points and automate tax analysis.

    QBR - Quarterly Business Review – reporting to senior management and team on progress against annual function goals and multi-year True North goals.

    Tax planning and modelingOther ResponsibilitiesProvide specialized training and ongoing support to our tax team, ensuring seamless adoption of new technologies and process enhancements.

    with other teamsParticipate in current or planned firm-wide technology initiatives involving Tax, e.g., centralization of client/entity data so there is one golden source.

    Partner with other functional areas (i.e., IT, Client Operations, Corporate Finance) to ensure tax requirements are factored into transformation of their data or processes that touch inputs/outputs to Tax.


    What you bring:


    A consistent track record in identifying, recommending, and implementing business process improvements and technology solutions for investment managersStrong analytical abilities to translate sophisticated tax requirements of alternative funds and their investments into efficient processes and technological solutions.

    A solid understanding of data elements and their relationships, particularly regarding the operations of an investment managers and its managed funds.

    Hands-on experience with BI tools such as data sourcing, visualization and process automation. Experience with software relevant to fund tax operations (e.g., eFront) is a plus.
    Robust project management/Agile method skills to manage and coordinate all activities for a project (e.g., scope, design, plan, budget).Education Preferred

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, IT, or a related field. An advanced degree or specialized certification (e.g., CPA, PMP) is a plus.
    Experience Preferred

    8-10 years of experience in the investment management industry with a focus on business process improvement and transformation. Tax or accounting experience is highly desirable but not required.#LI-Hybrid
