    Job Description

    AECOM - Hun t is hiring a Project Accountant to work on a large joint-venture aviation project located at O'Hare airport in Chicago, Illinois.

    This is an on-sight position and will be a great opportunity to become part of the growing Hunt Construction Group

    Job Summary:
    Provides project-specific accounting support in accordance with client agreements and internal policies and procedures. Partners with job site personnel on contract matters, subcontractor invoicing, and owner billings.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    Supports moderately complex project(s), working under general supervision.
    Prepares various financial reports and provides analysis and recommendations based on findings.
    Requires a proven ability to apply professional concepts in a productive, consistent manner. Maintains records according to generally accepted accounting practices.
    Performs audits and generates special financial reports.
    Reviews projects for accurate revenue recognition and provides project analysis and recommendations based on findings.
    OR
    Has advanced knowledge of project accounting, providing support for the most complex and/or large-scale projects.
    Makes recommendations for project improvement based on review of financial results and knowledge of project(s).
    Researches general ledger account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and A/R cash adjustments.
    Works with customers or clients to gather and provide information.
    May review contracts for additional service opportunities and assist in converting project proposal into project budget.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:
    BA/BS + 2 years of relevant project accounting experience or AA/AS + 4 years of relevant project accounting experience or HS/GED + 6 years of relevant project accounting experience

    OR
    BA/BS + 4 years of relevant project accounting experience or AA/AS + 6 years of relevant project accounting experience or HS/GED + 8 years of relevant project accounting experience


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Construction project accounting experience

    Detailed oriented with ability to prioritize work, navigate ambiguity, and meet quick turn-around deadlines with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment

    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

    Strong analytical capabilities and ability to produce high-quality analysis

    Must be able to multitask, work independently, and effectively manage time

    Work well in a team environment and collaborate with others to accomplish team objectives

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint such pivot table and formulas

    Previous experience working on-site at a client location

    Additional Information
    This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future.

    This position does not offer relocation assistance.

    Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.


    This position will be located on site at the O'Hare International airport, remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this position.

    This job site location offers free parking.
