Title: Systems Administrator

Location: Remote - Prefer candidates local or near San Antonio, Texas

Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm

Job Type: 6 month contract with potential to extend/convert

Openings: 1

Interview Process: 2 rounds

Job Description:

This position involves installing, configuring, and supporting systems and hardware. Responsibilities include managing system infrastructures, implementing best practices, and ensuring system functionality. Duties also include backup and recovery of IT infrastructure, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Daily interaction with users, customers, and technical teams
Operating and maintaining Business Objects (BOBJ) systems
Conducting system upgrades, migrations, and virtual system configurations
Managing storage space and user accounts
Scheduling automated tasks and deploying scripts
Performing backup, recovery, and system updates
Addressing system performance issues and anomalies
Generating reports as needed
Monitoring system releases and security audits
Troubleshooting user and system problems
Developing standard operating procedures and implementing best practices
Providing support for security audits

Required Skills/Technologies:

Bachelor's degree with relevant experience or Masters with prior experience
Active investigation (Tier 5) for IT-I level Position of Trust
Active Security+ certification
Business Objects (BOBJ) experience
Experience with SQL databases and script generation
Willingness to obtain BOBJ certification
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours
Effective communication and training abilities
Strong multitasking, initiative, and collaboration skills

Nice to Have Skills/Technologies:

Performance tuning, Java, Apache Tomcat, and Windows server administration
Knowledge of PL/SQL, SFTP, SSL, and Secure Transport
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and HR Systems
Preferably familiar with DCPDS, Oracle US Federal Human Resources, and PVCS
Exposure to DoD and WOTS systems
