    • United States of America About the role The purpose of this position is to lead an energy and sustainability program for a Chicago based acute care healthcare client portfolio of 14 acute care and 700+ non acute care facilities.
    What you'll do + Develop energy, water, waste efficiency, and sustainability strategy and playbook for client's real estate portfolio managed by CBRE.

    + Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational efficiency and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption (may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, renewable energy, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services).

    + Engage FM team to identify and develop energy projects. Responsible for formalizing scope, obtaining quotes, evaluating financial viability, performing project savings analysis, budgeting and obtaining project approval.

    + Collaborate with the on-site teams on the implementation and management of energy and sustainability projects in a timely and accurate fashion.

    + Report clear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities (cost savings, CO2, water, waste etc.), and achievements monthly or as requested by client.

    + Provide energy and sustainability related inputs across all real estate - examples include green leasing, sustainable sourcing, sustainability construction standards etc.

    + Communicate plans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings. + Initiate water efficiency and waste management programs and develop plans to roll out to portfolio. + Oversee utility cost management, benchmarking and energy, water and waste analytics work conducted by the energy analyst. + Oversee any existing and proposed state, federal and other Sustainability compliance requirements. + Understand and calculate building energy consumption profiles and energy savings from projects. What you'll need To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training. Minimum of four years of managerial experience preferred. + CEM and LEED accreditation preferred.

    + The candidate should be a self-starter and have the ability to strategically drive an energy program with innovative ideas and solutions.

    + Has a detailed knowledge of energy consuming building systems, energy and water efficiency in hospitals and healthcare environments, healthcare compliance, industry standards for measurement & verification of energy savings.

    + Carbon footprint reporting experience or training preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements. + Strong people and communication skills required.

    The candidate should be able to work with the client, FM leadership and facility operations team members to communicate value, progress and to mentor as needed.

    + Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications + Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities.

    Strong program management and leadership skills. + Advanced, in-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts, particularly related to the built environment. Decisions made with detailed understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project goals.     CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience.

    The minimum salary for the Energy Manager position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Energy Manager position is $130,000 annually.

    The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. CBRE is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity.
