    Switchgear Solutions has 30 years of experience as an industry leader in the sales and service of electrical power delivery equipment to utility companies and heavy industry.

    We offer a wide variety of field, shop, construction and engineering services for power distribution and control equipment.

    From custom turn-key projects, manufacturing custom engineered products, equipment maintenance, power quality testing and emergency/disaster services – we extend our support to a wide range of customers.


    ABOUT THE POSITION

    Switchgear Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to be our financial accounting expert and manage the accounting functions of our business.

    We will expect this person to produce and maintain accurate financial records, while meeting reporting deadlines.

    You will work with others in the department to establish and recommend internal controls to support the financial wellness and integrity of the company.

    This position reports to the Controller.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Develop and implement systems and controls for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information, and managing accounting staff.
    Plans and coaches work of small team – enforces policies and procedures.
    Contributes accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
    Schedules expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
    Monitor revenue and expenses; coordinate collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data.
    Maintains chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
    Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
    Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations, and recommending new procedures.
    Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

    EXPERIENCE
    3+ years managerial experience
    6+ years accounting experience
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
    Certified Public Accounting designation, a plus.
    Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
    Excellent management and supervisory skills.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
    Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software – including QuickBooks, ADP, and others.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
    Thorough attention to detail
    Able to work independently and as a team.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer required.
    May need to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
    Driving may be required in this role.
    Must be willing to confidently submit to the background and drug screening process.
