    Position Overview:

    Come join our growing team of strategists and problem solvers on the Single-Family Credit Risk Analytics, Reporting, and Technology team (the ART team).

    Analytics, reporting, and the identification of emerging risks from our loan portfolio are essential to Freddie Mac's success.

    You'll bring together business partners and identify emerging industry trends in a fast-paced and diverse work environment This position can be based in McLean, VA (preferred) or Plano, TX.

    Your Impact:
    Champion the development of a premier risk organization to support the single-family mortgage market.

    Apply sophisticated technical skills to lead and provide deeper insights into credit risk trends of newly funded loans using traditional and non-traditional mortgage data.

    Develop SME knowledge about Freddie Single-Family data, the Seller/Servicer Guide and our mortgage products; independently extract data to support related analytics.

    Lead and implement sophisticated analytics frameworks to provide insights into credit risk of newly funded loans and potential impacts of proposed new mortgage products and/or credit policies by using data and business expertise.

    Provide expertise and leadership in exploring risk management frontier using machine learning and other sophisticated quantitative skills.

    Enhance analytical bench-strength in the team by building subject matter expertise in risk models, statistical methods, mortgage products, credit policy, credit risk, business trends as well as technical data skills.

    Identify and maintain appropriate controls to ensure business strategies are achieved within the established corporate risk appetite.
    Ensure processes are in place to provide awareness, monitoring, and responses to address emerging risk or opportunities.


    Qualifications:
    Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience analyzing credit risk and/or mortgage products
    Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field (Master's Degree preferred)
    3+ years mortgage industry or credit experience
    8+ years of data analysis experience, with a combination of business and technical skills to include SAS, R, Python, SQL, Excel and Powerpoint, and Tableau (or similar business intelligence platforms)
    Knowledge of Machine Learning a plus
    Solid grasp of risk, credit, and the mortgage life cycle
    Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    Keys to Success in this Role:
    Proven ability to analyze risk using quantitative and qualitative information.
    Track record of developing goal-oriented plans and driving multiple projects simultaneously within a time-sensitive environment.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A leader who embraces risk management and questions the status quo.
    Deep curiosity about new trends and topics in mortgage products, credit policy and credit risk.

    Exempt Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site.

    This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $146,000 - $218,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.

    The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
