Position Details

Summary Operating Title Assistant Professor of Practice, Accounting Long Classification Title Campus Location Plymouth Department PSU I&E Business Summary of Position The School of Business Administration, an ACBSP accredited program, invites applications for non-tenure track faculty, benefited position in Accounting beginning in August 2024. We seek a talented individual who is a self-directed learner, and is aware of changes as they happen in the discipline, especially for CPA licensing. Strong applicants should have a record of teaching excellence in a variety of accounting courses, experience in teaching diverse learners, experience integrating technology with instruction, and a willingness to teach predominantly traditional undergraduate classes. Professional experience and certifications in the field are a strong plus. The BS in Accounting program has a long-standing reputation for producing outstanding accounting graduates who are highly sought after by businesses and public accounting firms throughout the New England Region.

Two years of university/college level teaching experience or comparable training and/or industry experience.

Ability/interest in teaching courses in the areas of financial and managerial accounting, taxation, and auditing.

Interest in course and curriculum design in the discipline

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and business or institutional partners outside PSU.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

MSA degree or MBA and CPA certification or MBA and practitioner experience in accounting.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Membership in professional organizations such as the AICPA, AAA, IMA, and/or

state societies of CPAs.

Professional certification in accounting, CPA, CMA, EA, CFE, CIA or comparable.

Professional/corporate experience.
