    Full-time, remote work eligible opportunity to assist with research data collection for the Genitourinary Disease Center, focusing on prostate and bladder cancers, at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

    Utilize various clinical data sources to abstract information necessary for operational metrics, clinical research, and publications. Perform data entry and quality assurance of data. Run queries and create reports. Assist with the development of data structures to capture research data elements. Maintain work practice documents that outline all data collection activities. Must be detail oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.

    Responsibilities


    • Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources, including medical records; will enter data into a PC or laptop.
    • Runs queries and reports. Compiles datasets for analysis.
    • Edits and maintains work practice documents outlining the process for collection and quality assurance of data.
    • Prepares format for final disposition of data; maintains an internal library on project information resources and final data collected.
    • Will work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data. This will include attendance at regular meetings with team leaders.

    Minimum Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education); one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.

    Preferences


    • Experience with data entry and electronic data capture systems, like REDCap
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with EPIC, medical terminology, and cancer diagnostic terminology
    • Comfortable engaging with Informatics staff as well as clinicians, communicating effectively
    Interest in long-term employment can compensate for lack of experience in these areas.

    The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
