Experience

It has been n my professional experience that the most expensive solution isn't the right answer to all problems. The same is true of many cheap solutions. However, there are some exceptions and those are hard to find for those who don't know where to look or what questions they're not asking.

Education

Some of my programming is talk to me by a charter school catholic tech educator. I learned the basics of python & java as well as the complex. Howard Davis is a intuitive but silly educator k through 12 educator.

The rest is self taught or a few peers of my father and my father himself. What they helped create is a two way channel that used ping to reliably broadcast and receive messages between windows and linux operating systems.
