    Job Summary

    The Manager of Accounting is responsible to provide leadership to a team of professionals who oversee the timely, complete, and accurate reporting of financial information and periodic accounts analysis and reconciliation. This position will handle the accuracy and completeness of the organization's accounting to be in accordance with GAAP also addressing country program specific considerations. The Manager is responsible for the implementation of ongoing systemic improvements in process and procedure to maximize the efficient use of CRS' private resources and donor contributions.

    Roles and Key Responsibilities
    • Manage the accounting analysis team to ensure the timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of financial information.
    • Define approach for detailed account analysis and coordinate any resolutions and improvements needed.
    • Coordinate the review and approval of quarterly cash forecasts.
    • Coordinate review of aging reports, receivable balances and identify issues and analyze trends.
    • Realign the team's month- and year-end processes to feed in and prepare for a successful Financial Statements audit.
    • Coordinate Financial Statement audit process for Country Programs and lead account analysis.
    Based on continuous assessment, provide ongoing recommendations to improve work processes and improve financial management systems to enhance the achievement of Agency objectives.
    • Coordinate system and business process assessments to confirm or create efficient and effective controls.
    • Train, coach and develop staff and provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations.
    • Promote Agency understanding of and adherence to established financial policies and procedures. Support Country Programs to strengthen financial processes and practices.
    • Guide all country programs in consistent application of accounting practices.
    • Facilitate and support financial management training for overseas and HQ based staff.
    Supervisory Responsibilities - Team in Accounting and Financial AnalysisUnit. Key Working Relationships:

    Internal: Finance Division, Internal Audit, Regional Finance Officers, and Country Program offices

    External: Donors, vendors, agency service providers, external auditors

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience. Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 6-7 years accounting experience and progressive grants management experience
    • Strong knowledge and experience in GAAP
    • Solid knowledge of not-for-profit accounting, U.S. Government and major non-USGdonors funding regulations.
    • Strong finance and accounting knowledge and analytical/problem solvingskills.
    • Strong computer skills,project management skills,process development and enhancement skills.
    • Demonstrated experience in building and leading teams.
