Job Title:
New Patient Coordinator
Summary:
Provides support through various roles for the daily activities of a medical office.
The new patient coordinator works closely with both or medical staff and verification team to ensure the efficient and smooth work flow of the daily clinics.
Following the practice guidelines, the new patient coordinators are involved in registering patient demographics, insurance, PCP's, and referrals while answering phones and/or scheduling patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
New patient coordinators performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
- Answers all calls with a welcoming demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
- Answers multiphone lines and/or returning calls in an efficient and timely manner.
- Works close with referring facilities.
- Handles all online requests (Leading Reach & Website)
- Responsible for obtaining up to date demographics, insurance plans, and insurance approvals (referrals) for new patients when scheduling.
- Responsible for maintaining an open communication line with all employees, patients, and vendors, while maintaining proper confidentiality, to ensure proper handling of all medical questions and/or issues that may arise.
- Interacts with other employee's in a polite, courteous and productive manner.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly work area.
- Responsible for continuous improvement projects in all areas of responsibility.
- Ensures that company meets or exceed Federal, State, and Local governmental laws, ordinances, and regulations in all areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for auditing own performance and recommending own objectives and standards of performance.
- Monitors and maintains special projects and programs as requested.
- Obtains, maintains or exceeds company productivity and quality policy.
- Responsible for adhering to established "Work Rules."
- Trains appropriate personnel upon request.
- Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.

Education/Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or 1 or more year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Accounting software; Internet software and Database software.
