As a Surgical Authorization Specialist, you will be a vital team member responsible for managing surgical authorizations and ensuring seamless coordination between healthcare providers and insurance companies.
With core skills in office experience, medical terminology, and insurance verification, you will accurately process and track surgical authorizations to facilitate timely patient care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in preauthorizations.
- Indepth knowledge of insurance benefits, referral processes, and authorization requirements.
- Ability to review and interpret physician orders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately estimate costs for patients.
- Proficient in using online payer portals and effectively communicating with insurance companies.
- Excellent organizational skills, detailoriented, and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain authorizations for medical services through direct communication with insurance payers via phone or online portals.
- Maintain regular followup on pending authorization cases to ensure timely resolution.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of insurance benefits, referrals, and inform patients about estimated costs before tests or procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of cardiology services, diagnostic centers, and hospital outpatient settings to efficiently obtain authorizations.
- Prioritize and organize tasks effectively in a fastpaced environment, meeting deadlines and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to resolve authorizationrelated issues promptly.
- Medical Assistants with experience in chart review and pre authorizations will be considered
Pay:
$36, $40,000.00 per year
